Phoroptor Preventive Maintenance Checklist

This is an outline of a Phoroptor Preventive Maintenance.

1. Loaner Phoroptor is dispatched and customer unit brought to shop.

2. Unit is disassembled.

3. All detents are cleaned and lubricated.

4. Thrust washers and bearings are de-greased, cleaned and lubricated.

5. Geneva assemblies are cleaned and lubricated.

6. Cylinder dials are cleaned. Proper operation of moon & star is checked.

7. Turret assemblies are disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt.

8. Rotation and swivel assemblies are adjusted.

9. Pd assembly is cleaned and adjusted.

10. Rotary prisms are checked for proper operation & repaired if needed.

11. Instrument is reassembled.

12. Proper axis of all cylinder lenses is verified on projection fixture.

13. Proper calibration of rotary prisms is verified on projection fixture.

14. Cross cylinder alignment and operation is verified.

15. Proper tensions set to allow correct Turret operation.

16. All lenses are cleaned.

17. All outer surfaces are cleaned.

If, during the course of a Preventive Maintenance we discover any parts that need to be replaced or repairs which are needed beyond the scope of the PM, we will provide a detailed estimate for your approval, before you are responsible for any additional charges.
